The Shop sells a wide range of seasonal and local produce in our shop. We can provide you with everyday essentials or something that is more for a treat! We would also be happy to reserve you a daily newspaper just give us a call. There is a small but cozy tearoom with additional seating outside. We have light lunches, monthly specials, homemade cakes, and much more. All our menu is available to eat in or takeaway.

The Shop also provides freshly made picnics for your walk, large bookings, whole cake orders, arrival hampers if your staying local to the area.

Dogs are allowed inside the tearoom. Free Wifi available!

History

The Village Shop and Tearoom was created to help inhabitants get essentials they couldn’t get elsewhere. Although no direct history can be traced to its starting date, it is assumed that the shop was founded in the early 20th century.

The shop, and later the tearoom, remains a popular place to stop for weary travellers and for inhabitants of the Octagon Parish.

The size of the shop has largely stayed the same, yet the offering has done anything but; offering anything between local confectionary such as Mel’s three fruit marmalade to internationally recognised brands. The shop is also open all-year round, something which has proven most popular but which had been historically difficult to achieve.
